Kazakhstan, Russia, and China join forces to expand trade through the Seljatino Transport and Logistics Center

Strategic importance of the project
CRK Terminal is a joint initiative of JSC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ), Russian JSC Slavtrans-Service, and China’s Xi’an Free Trade Port Construction and Operation Co., Ltd.. The center is being built at the Seljatino station in the Moscow region and is designed to strengthen logistics links between China, Kazakhstan, and Russia.
The project is already part of the agreement signed by Kazakhstan, Russia, and China during President Putin’s state visit to Kazakhstan. A unified digital platform is also planned for the Xi’an–Dostyk/Altynkol–Seljatino route.

Infrastructure and capabilities of the new hub
Warehousing facilities: a multi-temperature warehouse of about 65,000 m² and a commodity warehouse with a capacity of 150,000 pallet spaces.
Container areas: storage sites for an additional 3,000 TEU, as well as zones for storing up to 10,000 passenger cars.
Railway infrastructure: construction of additional railway tracks with a total length of about 3 km.
The hub will enable efficient transshipment and cargo handling, accelerating logistics processes and improving container transport planning. This is particularly important for Kazakh exporters.

Transit volumes and achievements
In 2023, cargo volumes along the China–Russia–Kazakhstan–Russia route reached 3.8 million tons, a 35% increase compared to 2022.
In Q1 2024, transit remained stable at about 0.9 million tons on the same route.
Container shipments from Russia to China via Kazakhstan grew by 63% (January–September 2024), while container traffic along the China–Europe–China route increased by 65%.
Moreover, CRK Terminal will become part of international transport corridors, including the rapidly developing Middle Corridor (TITR), which connects China and Europe through Kazakhstan and the Caspian Sea.

CRK Terminal – a key step in integration
The Seljatino CRK Terminal represents an important step in integrating Kazakh, Russian, and Chinese logistics systems. It will provide:
* faster delivery times and higher efficiency of transit shipments;
* expanded logistics capacity for containers and diverse types of cargo;
* stronger trade ties and more resilient transport infrastructure.
All these achievements are aligned with Kazakhstan’s Nurly Zhol national program, aimed at developing the country’s transport and logistics infrastructure.
